Who else is a DS Pokemon player? I went to the Nationals last year, but I couldn't manage to advance to Worlds. If anyone is a competitive battler, let me know! Even if you aren't, discuss the games here.

Personally, my favorite game is Red (what can I say, I'm a sucker for the original) and my favorite Pokemon, by far, is Mewtwo. I mean, come on.

I don't own a DS but I played the f*ck outta Blue and Yellow... I think I'd have to say Blue is my favourite because it was the first one I played, but I loved the surfing Pikachu game in Yellow. x3

My favourite Pokemon are Jolteon and Vulpix - closely followed by the rest of the Eevee evolutions, Ninetails, and Dragonair. I also like Mew and Clefable. x3

EDIT:
So I recently got a DS and Soul Silver... It was life-changing. oo

Bad troll is bad.

I also enjoyed Blue, as my grandparents got that for me after I discovered that I actually couldn't "catch 'em all" with Red. I have to admit though, I probably wore my GameBoy out walking around the Safari Zone and doing other outstandingly goofy things.

I own Platinum, SoulSilver, FireRed, and Emerald. I just can't trade with WiFi because I can't connect my DS to my WiFi :noes:

I'm trying for nationals this year with Heart Gold, but personally I'd like to see a different rule set if there's going to be a pokemon tourney. Something like point buy, where the OU pokemon cost more to play with than UU pokemon to encourage different strategies; or something like a level 40 level cap, just to mix it up some.

Also, since we have some fans of the oldies, we might try having a 2nd gen tournament as well.

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure that you would be able to find many people who still have working Gen II games, unless they had the internal battery replaced.

Okay, then. I assume that there will still be interest in tournaments, so depending on how many people have an interest at the convention, we may run a double elimination or round robin tournament. Assuming twenty people don't show up in the next half hour saying how much they'd like to have the tournament run at 4:00, we can gauge interest at the PokePower Panel. Otherwise, let's aim for a tournament on Saturday? We can have just a low low entry fee so that there's something in it for the top placers aside from the title of Pokemon Master

Sound good?
